From late June through the summer, the shores of Lake Como resonate with the sounds of classical music. The Festival di Bellagio e del Lago di Como, directed by pianist Rossella Spinosa, brings world-class musicians to the historic villas, churches and gardens of over 40 towns around the lake. It’s culture, beauty and Italian elegance at their finest.
Concerts in Extraordinary Venues
Imagine listening to a string quartet in the gardens of Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, or a piano recital inside a frescoed lakeside church. Since 2011, the Festival has brought classical music to the most beautiful settings on Lake Como — intimate concerts where the architecture is as stunning as the performance.
A Cultural Evening on the Lake
Many festival concerts begin in the early evening, leaving the perfect window for a sunset dinner at MamaGina Brunate. Attend a performance in Bellagio or one of the lakeside towns, then take the boat or drive to Como and ride the funicular to Brunate. End your cultural evening with Italian bistro cuisine at 500 metres, watching the last light fade over the Alps.
Getting Around Lake Como
The lake’s ferry and hydrofoil service connects Bellagio to Como in about 45 minutes (fast boat) or 2 hours (slow ferry). Check navigazionelaghi.it for timetables. The festival programme is available at bellagiofestival.com.
